OBO Bettermann is one of the leading manufacturers of systems for guiding and protecting electrical and multimedia installations operating in 40 countries and with around 30,000 products in the electrical field.
The systems of ladders and cable channels had very complicated formulas, which negatively affected both the efficiency of the libraries themselves and the difficulties in maintaining them.
In the event of any changes, the manufacturer had to ask an external provider of the BiMowa platform to produce new libraries, which generated delays and additional service costs.
Changes to the PIM system required manual updating of BIM files. OBO wanted every update to be automatically reflected in their BIM files.
Most BIM OBO libraries were created for entire systems (e.g. cable ladders), which had many variations. Because of this, it was physically impossible to create all possible combinations of systems and maintain them.
OBO did not have the ability to publish BIM families on external provider channels and BIM marketplaces. The company needed a solution that would allow multiple channels, internal and external, to be updated simultaneously.
The client wanted to have information about who uses his BIM families. This data would be helpful tools for generating sales leads.
We implemented and integrated BIMStreamer with the manufacturer's PIM system, which allowed automatic propagation of any PIM data changes to BIM libraries. In the process of data injection, we replaced complex static formulas with dynamically generated LookupTable to facilitate data management.
Obo gained access to the administration panel allowing its employees to independently add new libraries, automatically regenerate them in case of changes in PIM.
The administration panel provides download statistics to the client, and analytical data about users downloading files is sent to his CRM system.
We have implemented BIM channels, which are equipped with convenient filtering mechanisms that allow designers to quickly search for products of interest to them.
The plugin we have implemented generates files on the server side, so they can be easily sent to external channels such as BIM marketplace.
We have created a configurator that automatically generates OBO systems, eliminating the need to store multiple files with different variants. The solution adapts the base file to the specifics of a given project.
OBO has full control over the data coming from the platform.
All BIM models of the manufacturer are now optimized accordingly.
Publishing new products is done from the intuitive admin panel.
